In the mid-1980s 2 TV-movies were aired on CBS. 1989 brought what seemed to be revival of Kojak, the 6 season, in which Kojak had a rank of captain. The last season lasted until 1990 and consisted of 5 episodes. It was aired by ABC.

As he's about to kill the last person related to the girl's death, Kojak is finding the link between victims and wants to prevent from next murder. |

A gun dealer is forced by a gang to sell them large amount of guns. When a gang is killing members of rival gang Kojak starts his investigation. Together with Crocker and Stavros they're organizing a raid on gang owned pub in which their finding a vault with large number of pistols among which there are also the ones supplied by a threatened gun dealer. Kojak quickly locates dealer with help of pistols serial numbers. He's visiting him and convincing to testify against gang members, the storekeeper don't have much time to think about Kojak proposition because he's kidnapped and killed by a gang. Shortly after this there's a call in which women describes this, as it happens she's a former gun shop bookkeeper who's also not so keen to testify, but when Kojak convincing her, that gang members will very likely find her soon and kill, just like her boss, she's changing her mind. She's taken to the motel away from Manhattan but even though she's under police wings she can't sleep calm as gangsters won't give up easily on a plan to kill her, since she's only one witness of illegal gun sale, and killing of gun dealer. |

He getting more certain when he's bailing him out from the prison, but soon he will learn about real plans of his 'fellow-man'. Kojak is using this and convincing that he should help him, in order to help himself, eventually equipped with microphone is sent by Kojak to his "friend's" flat and is getting testimonies essential for investigation and for him, to be free. |
